As I was working today evening, we had an unexpected event just outside our door. We heard a few bangs on the door, and thought someone was outside. We opened the door, only to realize that no one was there. We were baffled, and then realized it was not a person: A huge squirrel was eating the pumpkin we carved for Halloween! I managed to get a few photos, including a face-to-face encounter with it.

The squirrel had taken most of the seeds and filling out of the pumpkin, and it was scattered across the deck. We decided to leave it in the garden so it could eat in peace. I guess we aren’t the only people that like halloween…
