Back to School… The First week

0

The first week of school was really exciting, especially because it was my first day at Central Middle school (for the APC program). The school is gargantuan, and has all the latest technology. Even the history wordle on the wall is amazing!

We were introduced to all the teachers, and got to know each other during the first three days. My favorite activity was when in Science, everyone secretly wrote on a sheet of paper 3 things about us and crumbled it up. On the count of three, we all threw the paper at each other. We then picked any random one, and tried to figure out who the paper described. But all good things must come to an end. Within the first 5 minutes of the homework day, the happiness, rather laziness, ends abruptly and 100-pound homework comes to stay permanently. Thankfully, all things that are not so good must also come to an end. By the end of the week, there was about no homework!

One of the best things about this year was what we go to know in Science. We also learnt that we are embarking on a 7-year journey to becoming scientifically-literate citizens. We were introduced to all the emergency procedures (which, in my opinion, were pretty straight forward), and then were told about the specialist classes. Each 6th grade specialist comes after lunch. Every specialist seemed appealing, especially the Physical Education (Gym) and Art. Everyone in the school is very friendly. The first week of school was amazing and I am looking forward to the year ahead.

On a different note, this year my friend Andrew started a website about movies. Hope you enjoy reading his posts as well.
