Egyptian Eye – A Hieroglyph Today, I read the book “Fill Your Oil Painting with Light and Color” by Kevin Macpherson. I learned the 3 important things about Color and Color Notes. Those three things are Hue, Value and Chroma. Hue is the name of the color. Value is the relative degree of brightness. Chroma is the relative degree of intensity. For example, inmy Grand Tree painting, I used various shades of yellow and brown colors to show light effects on the tree trunk. The color, its brightness and intensity helped to show the effects in the direction of light.The page 18 in the book describes this. Please see a photo of the page 18 and see the color spectrum.
