Last Tuesday, I went to the Discover Quincy Arts and Culture. It was a meeting for artists all over Quincy and hosted by one of the City Councilors, Ms. Margaret LaForest. Not so surprisingly for me, I was the youngest one there and by quite a big margin. We all introduced ourselves and went into groups that we were interested in. There were artists specializing in Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Arts Education, etc. I went to group on Visual Arts which had artists including members of The Quincy Art Association and The Art Spot. We discussed how Quincy’s visual arts could be improved. I said that architecture could be improved. At the end, all the groups shared their ideas. The best part was when two of the prominent artists from Quincy, told me that I can do a large painting with them. I look forward to working together with them and making Quincy a better place for artists.
