“Nanini” – My own Indian Style Panini

0

This is my own creation which I call the “Nanini” meaning Nandan’s Panini. Although this sandwich originated in Italy, when I made it, I chose my own ingredients – some Indian spices and Indian pav-bhaji bread, to give it a little twist. Read the ingredients and the direction to make this simple yet delicious mouth watering dish. Hope you get to experience the awesome taste of this sandwich.

Ingredients:
Any Cheese slice of your choice (I used American)
Indian Pav Bhaji bread. You can also use other non-sliced breads.
Spinach, Tomato Slices;
Seasoning: Garlic Powder, Pepper, Italian seasoning, Chat Masala (an Indian spice mix), salt (to taste), sauce (optionally you can use Indian hot and sweet tomato sauce)

Direction:

  1. Cut the bread into two slices.
  2. Put the cheese in between.
  3. Remove the stems of the spinach, and place it on top of the cheese.
  4. Cut one slice of tomato and place it on top of the spinach.
  5. To make the special seasoning, in a small bowl, mix pepper powder, garlic powder, Italian seasoning and chat masala.
  6. Rub the seasoning on top of the tomato slice and on the other slice of bread as well.
  7. You may also add salt and a sauce if you desire. I did not add it, as I did not want too many flavors in the Nanini.
  8. Either you microwave till the cheese melts OR put it in the Panini press or Sandwich grill to just make it a little warm.
  9. Serve it hot along with a tea or coffee.
  10. Enjoy your Nanini!!!
