I extremely enjoyed doing the correspondence because I got to write letters to professionals on my topic. I wrote three letters, and I feel lucky to have gotten responses from all of them. I got the addresses using the Internet.
The first awesome response I got was from Ms. Sandra Donnelly. She was my former art teacher and one of the people who got me interested in Impressionism. The answers to the questions even mentioned me as the future of Impressionism. I really appreciated the fact that she took the time to respond to my questions.
The second amazing response I received was from Ms. Julia Welch. She is the Curatorial Research Fellow of the Museum of Fine Arts. I chose the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston because they have all different types of paintings, especially Impressionistic paintings! The answers she gave me took me into the past, and the small letter she wrote before the questions delighted me. She even recommended that I come to the Museum of Fine Arts for a tour of Impressionism. These answers are some of my favorites. I look forward to visiting the museum and meeting her.
The third insightful response I received was from Ms. Laura Harvey. She is the Education Administrator of the North River Arts Society. I chose North River Arts Society because they do different kinds of art shows and have lots of member artists, so they could tell me more about Impressionism. The answers were simple, descriptive and very informative. She also recommended some local painters, who paint using Impressionism. I feel glad that I sent a letter to the North River Arts Society.
Through this project, I learnt that correspondence was one of the best ways to get information from experts working in the field of art. I thank Ms. Joyce for the guidance on correspondence. After this project, it feels great to know experts in Impressionism, with whom I can meet and discuss.
