Sounds of the Season – Holiday Concert

0

Last week, we had “Sounds of the Season – Holiday Concert”, my first concert at Central Middle School. I was one of the band members playing the Clarinet. We started practicing since the end of September and performed the following songs:

*  “Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer”
*  “Bells, Bells, Bells”
*  “Frosty the Snowman”
*  “A Christmas Classic”
*  “Mozart at the North Pole”
*  “A Holly Jolly Christmas”

“Mozart at the North Pole” was the challenge piece that anyone, if they wanted to, could play. It contained several very high notes and very low notes which are hard to play, especially on clarinet. However, I got the version of the notes which I enjoyed playing. You can find videos of the songs on YouTube at the links listed below:

The road was not easy because we had to be at school by 7:30AM during the practice days. This also had a few hilarious mess-ups. One of them was when I rushed to school with my dad and reached on time. But guess what, it was an embarrassment as I had forgotten to take my clarinet 🙂 Luckily, we did not repeat that again.

I would like to thank the band teacher, Ms. Schmidt for putting together a great concert and making us work had towards perfection. Our section leaders also helped all of us to play our best. Finally, I would like to thank our school principal for having such a great band program. It was a pleasure to play in the magnificent Central School auditorium. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all of you!!!!!!
