Supermoon only occur when the moon reaches the full moon stage when it is closest to the earth. So they are unusually bright and also rare. Hence, supermoon eclipses are rare. Total supermoon lunar eclipse is extremely rare. Hence, the Supermoon eclipse on the clear night of September 27, 2015 was very special. The last one occurred in 1982 and the next one wont happen until 2033.
During this eclipse, when moon moves completely into the earth’s shadow, we could the moon in a red tinge. This is widely known as a blood moon. Many legends have it that when the blood moon arises, so do vampires and werewolves. To joke around, many of us, including me made wolf howls. It was hilarious!!!!!!
This was a widely tracked event. In fact, while we were outside watching it, the news channels were telecasting it live. Even though it was a Sunday night, I stayed up to see the full eclipse. I could see lot of people watching this celestial phenomenon. Today morning, at school, everyone was raving about it. Even at my mother’s school, students had gathered yesterday night to enjoy the event. You could read about its entire coverage on the internet by simply googling “supermoon lunar eclipse 2015”.
I hope you all enjoyed this very rare supermoon eclipse since its a VERY SLOW supermoon…
