Wood Art

0

A few days ago, in Point Painters – an after school program at my school, I made a Wood Art. In this type of art, you use pieces of wood of different shapes and glue them to make an image. You should use wood glue for best results.

I wanted to make something very different and made a lion hunter about to throw a spear at a lion. The background is a tropical forest. I first painted my base, the cardboard, in green. For the trees, a used a piece of wood commonly found in our boxes of wood, and painted it brown and green. For the lion, I took two parts and split both of them for legs, rectangular pieces for the body, and circular pieces for the head and mane, and put them together and painted it. For the hunter, I used the same parts I used for the lion’s feet, for the hunter’s hands, and a figure-like piece for the hunter’s head, body, and feet. For the spear, I used a Popsicle stick and cut it in half and cut the point. It took me 3 weeks to finish this since Point Painters was only once a week. I hope you enjoy.
